About
The Queen's Theatre Hornchurch is a vibrant producing theatre in the London Borough of Havering, serving East London, Essex and beyond since 1953. As a registered charity and the cultural hub of the region, over 200,000 people enjoy the theatre's programme every year, including the best in home-produced theatre, visiting live entertainment and inspiring Learning and Participation projects. Behind the scenes almost all of our sets and costumes are all lovingly created on-site by our highly skilled carpentry workshop, scenic artists and wardrobe department. The Queen's receives regular funding from the London Borough of Havering and is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation. This helps us put theatre at the heart of the cultural life of the community we serve.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Everyone loves an Xmas panto and this theatre is a really nice local venue for such shows. This year was Dick Whittington, and it was a nice show with very talented performers, who sang, danced and played instruments. However, the cast was visibly small, with only a handful of members this year. We enjoyed the show and will definitely watch next year’s. Merry Xmas Everyone!

Very repetitive and time wasting story. Small cast compared to previous pantomimes. Too many jokes over the children's and adults heads. Not very impressed compared to previous performances.

Queens Theatre is a good place for a musical event, but tonight’s was an embarrassment. The Motown show we saw was out of tune vocally and amateurish. Nothing wrong with the theatre, just the show.

I took the kiddos out for a lovely night at the panto, and BOY was it great. The atmosphere was ELECTRIC! I loved the music and the view, bit shame about the ice cream since it all melted before I even got a chance to eat it. Must of been global warming LOL (I know it's not real, I was only joking (jk))
My cherubs thought the panto was so funny and wanted to go again! (But the rest of my benefits was supposed to be spent on food, not panto tickets!)
I defo recommend, even if you think your kids might be a bit old for it, you won't know unless you try!
I also think the idea of a princess having short hair was fun, made my girlies feel like princesses as they all have short hair.

Our first and last panto.
All these little girls ready and excited some in princess dresses, all excited to see sleeping beauty and it was so disappointing.
Fair enough if sleeping beauty had short hair but I mean couldn’t she have looked like a princess? Where was her dress? My 2 little girls ages 4 and 6 kept asking “where is the princess?!”
And then the woodcutter turning into a wolf “because all men in romford turn in to wolfs at midnight - my 4 year old said “is this actually beauty and the beast?” All very odd.
And not everyone in the area is a cockney it was all too much. I felt like they assumed we were all rough louts by the way the jokes went.
There was no magic of Christmas. We tried to make the best out of it but not for us.
Nice theatre inside. All the seats were good. But what a shame. All the actors and actresses were talented in their own right but awful panto. So sorry to write this.

Went to see Motown at the queens, not been here in years, although local to me. It’s a lovely theatre. Comfy seats. The show was great.
In the interval the que for the ladies was quite long but went down quickly.
There’s a coffee shop & also a bar for drinks. Procecco was probably over priced & wasn’t very nice.
But overall we had a great evening and I’ll definitely be looking up other shows to go to there.

Went to see Kinky Boots last night. Absolutely brilliant. Have seen it at the West End and thought this rendition was better.

Do you need to show your vaccine pass to get in or is it okay to come with just a mask?
