Was looking forward to staying in this hotel as it seems to be the only 5* in Cardiff. My advise is to seek other 3* hotels in the City as I am amazed that the hotel can advertise as being a 5*. On checking in and arriving at our very small room my wife checked the bed linen and found... more

I stayed in The St Davids Hotel from 20-24 October. It was one of the best hotels I ever stayed in. Room was comfortable and food was excellent. Breakfast was great. The room's balcony had a wonderful view of the bay and a bit of the city itself too! For anyone going to Cardiff, I would definitely recommend staying here. more

We stayed at the St David's Hotel and Spa recently. We were booked into what was described as a delux Double room. The room was very basic as was the ensuite. The service was ok but not great. We were not offered help with our bags, nor were we shown to our room. The hotel is hugely over-priced. The spa... more

We stayed for 2 nights at the St David's hotel in August and I have to say that it was one of the best hotel experiences we have had. We have stayed in a number of 4 and 5* hotels in the UK and abroad and can honestly say that the staff at the St David's hotel are top of... more

Through a combination of circumstances I was booked into the St Davids Hotel instead of another. Knowing of it's reputation as the premier hotel In Cardiff I was really looking forward to the experience: The room heating did not work & I was given a little fan heater to plug in. The fabled view was poor, looking out the back... more

Thought we would stay the night after the rugby match between Wales and Australia. Staff were very friendly, and not at all pretentious. However, when going for breakfast the next morning the place was an absolute mess. First off the staff didn't explain that we could take from the continental breakfast bar - but that a cooked breakfast was extra... more

The St David's is no longer a Rocco Forte hotel and is managed by Principal Hotels who claim to be "Britain's upper four-star conference specialist" ... so it may be dropping a twinkle in the process. Certainly it's showing its 4-year age with some minor maintenance overlooked especially on exterior balconies and in the spa. Staff are brisk and professional,... more

We stayed one night at this hotel having rocked up in the lobby late in the day and struck lucky with the last available room, a master suite, which we got at half the advertised rate. Desk staff very friendly and helpful. Room was very contemporary, light and airy - floor to ceiling windows on a corner with two balconies... more

We had a junior bay suite which is spacious and has fantastic views over the bay. The king size bed is really comfortable and the staff professional and helpful. We used the spa facitilies a couple of times and would highly recommend the massive jacuzzi and salt water pools. We did not eat at the hotel as it is a... more

Went to Cardiff with my friend for a girlie weekend simply because we'd never been before, and chose to stay here after reading previous reviews and because we got a good deal. The hotel was fantastic. Our room was very spacious and tastefully decorated -balcony is a quirky bonus with gorgeous views over the bay. When we arrived at Reception... more
