Pure enjoyment. The amuse bouche were exceptional esp the cucumber macaroons, that said every dish was just enjoyable to savour. Charming, well informed service made for a memorable evening …which we hope to repeat

The cuisine was modern, flavorful, elegant and artistic but not fussy. We had the 5-course menu and each dish was a treat for both the eyes and the palate. Perhaps if we went back we might opt for the 4-course menu as the caviar dish...was good but not the highlight. Our favorites were the „topinambour“ (Jerusalem artichoke) and the trout. Both fairly humble ingredients that were made to sing in our plates. And the „mise en bouche“ opening bites as well as the „mignardise“ sweet mouthfuls at the end with the coffee were worth the visit in and of themselves. Don’t let the traditional decor fool you, this is inventive as well as satisfying, inspired cuisine. And the service was friendly and unfussy. A very special evening we will not forget!More
One of the best restaurant in Luzern ! We really enjoyed our dinner there , the manager was so helpful to get us a table in the middle of very busy weekend evening . The food was excellent, you really get your money worth here...and our server , Carla was so amazing ! Their speciality veal pie is definitely to try , one of the best meal we ever had in Swiss ! If we ever go back to Luzern, definitely we will be back here again !More
Excellent service, delicious food and great wine. Dinner at Sauvage was a highlight of our trip to Luzern.
My wife and I were recently on a Tour of Austria and Switzerland. On the final night before we all parted ways, we were treated to a Farewell Dinner at Restaurant Sauvage. In just 11 days, people from all corners of the globe had become...friends - many who did not know each other earlier soon became good friends who will likely stay connected in the months ahead. We had people from Australia to United States to Korea. As for the food, we had some delicious food and drink ranging from chicken and polenta to a tasty chocolate dessert followed by a Limoncello after dinner drink. The staff at Restaurant Sauvage were top quality. They enhanced our evening with exceptional service and hospitality. Although you may not be having a Farewell Dinner, treat yourself and your friends to a satisfying meal at Restaurant Sauvage the next time you are in Lucerne.More
We enjoyed the 4-course à la carte menu which was exquisite. We started with salmon, followed by a tuna steak and meat, rounding off with cheese. It tasted very well and we got little surprises from the kitchen in between. Staff is very attentive and...the atmosphere overall is very nice, perfect surrounding for a dinner for two. Can absolutely recommend this restaurant and we will visit again (the Chateaubriand is waiting, the couple next to us enjoyed it so we were a bit undecided for which meal to go).More
The service was first class, the kitchen sent us a complementary small dish which was lovely. The food was absolutely fantastic and the deserts were divine. Hopefully if I get another business trip to our plant in the local area will definitely be visiting this...place again.More
Dear Bob W Many thanks for sharing your experience to other readers. Your compliments to our service and food are highly appreciated. For dinner, any a la carte guest receive an complementary amuse-bouche from us. We look forward having you soon with us again. Just...More
One of the best lunch places you can choose in Lucerne. I used to work close to the Wilden Mann and I must say that it is hard to find something better for lunch. It is a bit pricey, but the food is fresh and...presented in a very tasteful manner. The service is always extraordniary. Last week, I tried the business lunch and it got me so hyped I had to write a review. If you want to keep your price down, it is totally ok to order tap water with your meal. You might pay a little charge for the service, but if you are a bit group, it will be worth it.More
Dear Guest Thank you for your great review. You are right, our lunch menus are very convenient. For soup or salad and a main course you pay between 21 and 26 swiss francs. All served with fresh bread and tasty butter. Would be great having...More
Restaurant Sauvage is the fine dining restaurant in the Hotel zum Wilden Mann in the old town of Lucerne. The hotel has an over 500 year old history. Sauvage was nearly empty on the evening we visited; the tour groups were all in the adjoining...restaurant serving Swiss specialities (i.e. fondue). Our starters , terrine of rabbit and truffled pecorino with chick peas, were very good. We both order the same main, guinea fowl stuffed with Bärlauch - this was very good too. Our daughter was happy with a pasta dish she ordered. The bottle of red wine we ordered was from the region and surprisingly good. We would happily return.More
Dinner with friends after the concert at KKL. All the dishes we had were delicious and beautifully served. They do have attractive seasonal dishes and a few versions of tasting menu for 3, 4 or 5 courses. Impressive wine list with something for every budget....The service was a bit slow but they were very busy on that night. Nevertheless everyone was friendly and polite. I would certainly go back again.More
I had dinner with my elderly parents at the restaurant tonight. We tried the typical autumn dishes - game with mountain cranberry cream sauce, deer in pepper sauce and braised beef. All the dishes tasted heavenly. My father started with a clear quail soup which...he said was very good and we all enjoyed our main courses. My parents finished off with sorbet and I took the cheese of the day with a fruit nut bread which I found good too. The service was excellent and friendly. Altogether a satisfying meal and very pleasant dining experience. We will definitely come back!More
Dear SharonInSpain Thank you for your gorgeous review. Your Wilden Mann Luzern Team
We chose a table on the rooftop patio, which was somewhat warm but airy on a hot June evening. The food was excellent -- the menu is not extensive, but the chef's specials were wonderful. Service was friendly, even extending to providing us with a...complimentary glass of Prosecco to celebrate the hotel's 500th anniversary!More
Dear Guest Thank you choosing our terrace on the Mezzanine floor for your dinner. Thank you for mentioning the specials during our 500 years anniversary! We hope to see you soon again with us. The Hotel Wilden Mann Luzern Team
By British standards, eating out in Switzerland, even for a standard meal, can be eye-wateringly expensive. Happily we were staying half board at the hotel, and we were very pleased with the standard menu - great food, beautifully presented, and superb quality. The staff were...also really friendly and efficient. A great place to eat.More
We ate at both restaurants (Burgerstube and Sauvage) at the Hotel Widen Mann. The restaurant Sauvage is quieter with an elegant feel whilst the Burgerstube is livelier and more 'rustic'. The food at both restaurants, generated from the same kitchen, was fantastic. Beautifully presented, exquisitely...flavoured, and just delicious. We had the 'jubilee' menu of four courses and could not fault them. The value was pretty good too for Switzerland. Wine is expensive but you can order it by the glass making it more affordable. Would definitely dine here again.More
We were staying in the hotel on a B&B basis but decided that for our anniversary we would dine in the hotel restaurant since one thing that attracted us to the hotel was the apparent quality of the restaurants. The menus for Sauvage and Burgerstube...were quite expensive, but we did like the Celebration menu which was more reasonably priced. Good weather meant we dined on the Terrace. We had three dinners there and were welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine to celebrate their 500 th anniversary, which was a nice touch. The dinners were very good, nicely served and the food of real quality. In particular we enjoyed some nice venison, a really good fish soup with saffron ( best I have had in a long time) and something new to me which was a white tomato soup which was superb. We did have the chance on our last evening to meet, and congratulate, the chef and his brigade for the food and to elicit an indication of how the white tomato soup was made. We will try this at home but wonder whether we will reach the standard of Wilden Mann restaurant. Well done to all the teamMore
