Lovely family run guest house.
Easy to find from motorway.
From the moment we arrived we were met with friendliness and courtesy. We arrived late but this was not a problem, there's a lovely small bar which was readily opened. The rooms were tastefully furnished & CLEAN.
The breakfast in the morning was plentiful and cooked to order.
We were recommended 2 fantastic restaurants by Reception within walking distance, we would never have found them ourselves as they were tucked away,, the best food I've tasted for ages.
Short walk through the park into Cardiff, very central.
We will definately be returning and would definately recommend.

We made a visit to Cardiff for the Rugby League Millenium Magic Event

The hotel is a family run business, the staff were courteous and friendly for the first phone call we made to the second we left.

The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable.

The food fresh, well prepared and presented, portions are ample.

The hotel is very close to the citiy centre parking was not a problem.

We recommend this hotel to people of all ages including families.

We enjoyed our stay and hope to return next year.

A big thank you to the Lincoln House Hotel from Yorkshire.

See you next May!!

Our initial expectations, after viewing the web site, were upheld as we arrived in rain soaked Cardiff, the hotel looked very beautiful with its light 'sandstone' fasard.

We received a reasonable welcome; the last hotel in Wales we stayed at, we were taken to our room, shown all the facilities and made a hot drink no such service here, just a finger pointed direction!

On entering our room we had a great view of the main road through the vast bay window then we saw the masive four poster complete with ladder! The room was carefully decorated and warm, it would have been more comfortable with better seating, just the two conference chairs let it down, but then we spend more time out of the room than in it. Our other disapointment was the lack of privacy with such large windows and no blinds if you wanted to change your only option was to close the curtains such a shame. The shower room was just that a shower, sink and toilet.

On a postive note the decor and new carpets complimented the house very well and its a joy to see Victorian decor and moldings so well looked after.

The staff we encounted were all very friendly and helpful, breakfast was ok - couldn't see the difference between a cooked english breakfast and a cooked welsh breakfast, nice bacon shame about the catering sausage.

Sadly we had to leave early and no attempt to charge us for the extra night was made which is refreshing today.

Our big negative was the noise, each of the three nights we stayed from the room above, which we understood to be a non letting room, three nights of walking around (floors creak in old houses), talking and general disturbance one night until after 2:00am. This awoke us each night,
granted when we mentioned it we received, a sorry.

In conclusion if you want a comfortable well presented room within 15mins walk of the city and your not as fussy as us you can't go wrong with the Lincoln House Hotel.

“Could not fault it.”

We booked at the Lincoln as a second choice after the Beaufort wouldn't offer just one night at the weekend, something I find really annoying. The girl who took the booking was excellent, eager to help. Then a day before we had a phone call to ask us if we would like a complimentary upgrade (of course!).

We are very fussy travellers, and it is unusual for us not to find anything to moan about, but I can honestly say it was perfect. Room was clean & well decorated. Front of house staff English (or should I say Welsh!), which we like as there is nothing worse than trying to translate to migrant workers simple requests.

Well deserves the 5's it has so far, will definitely stay there again.

We stayed over Easter weekend from Friday to Monday as we were in Cardiff for the Calzaghe fight.
The hotel is a lovely Victorian building sympathetically converted with small but good sized rooms with EnSuite.
We had a slight problem on the first night when the night was disturbed by a loud hummingthat came from a duct between rooms but this was remedied the next day while we were out as we were moved to another room with no further question.
The staff are brilliant, friendly and helpful. This added to the overall feeling of relaxation due to the relaxed and overall quiet atmosphere made the stay one to remember.

For future customers it is well worth noting that the hotel tries its best to not have large groups to maintain the quietness, the assistant manager advised us they dont book more than two rooms at a time to keep on top of this.

Great place!
