“Best Hotel Ever!”

Mercure Holland House Cardiff

Have just stayed at this Hotel for the 1st time and will most certain return. Our Room was on the 12th floor with stunning views over Cardiff. The Room and all its facilities were outstanding. Better still, it only cost £70 for the accommodation.

The kingsize bed was so comfortable.

The Spa and pool area was out of this world. The food and restaurant was excellent.

There is underground parking at £12 per day and the city centre is about a 5 min stroll. The millenium stadium will take about 15 minutes max to walk to.

If you are coming to cardiff, book this hotel.

“Very pleasant experience!”

Mercure Holland House Cardiff

8 Apr 2008

Stayed in this hotel recently whilst working and found it to be a first rate city centre hotel. It has a degree of refinement missing from most and is miles better that the Hilton in Cardiff. The room we had covered a corner 'plot' and was of suite size. It was all glass and providede exceptional views of Cradiff and out to the Bay.

The staff were very professional and helpful and the first floor bar/ lounge arera provides a very pleasant and spacious place to relax. It also stops the weekend Cardiff crowd coming in off the street to the place.

All in all first calss stay.

We had to go to Cardiff suddenly one afternoon and needed a place that would be comfortable. Very cheap option we had used before was full. Got a good price on the website for us and 14 year old son plus breakfast overnight. When we arrived were impressed by the lobby and friendly welcome even though there was obviously a party going on in hotel. I often find 4 star hotels can be less than friendly to couples with teenagers but this was not the case. The checkin man apologised that the booking had only just come through and the sofa bed was not made up but he rang housekeeping. By the time we got to the room on the 9th floor, the bed was being made up for son. Went to bar and had some drinks. Very quiet for a Sat but the party next door was jolly! Spectacular view of Cardiff from our corner room, and the sofa area was around the corner so we all had some privacy. Bought son a room service sandwich which came promptly. We had to get up early on the Sunday, so missed using the pool, which looked nice.

Breakfast was not sumptious but was freshly done and fine. It was included in our rate and it was quiet - service again polite and friendly. Checkout was smooth and we retrieved car from basement easily.

If I were to moan at all, it would be £12 a day for the car but that is British city centres for you! Also, for those of the white glove brigade there was dust on the telly turntable BUT the bathroom was lovely and spotless. The views by dar were also great - almost as good as last summer in Manhatten, albeit very different,

Not far to centre either.

“stunning hotel!”

Mercure Holland House Cardiff

30 Mar 2008

I stayed at Holland House for two nights in March. We got a bit lost finding the hotel, so we called the hotel for directions and the member of staff we spoke to was so helpful he stayed on the phone and directed us around the city until we reached the hotel. Our room was on the 12th floor, the view is amazing! The room was spacious and has great facilities. We ate in the Bar both nights and the food was very good, and filling!!! Breakfast was also great....good quality food! The staff were really friendly and helpful. We also used the leisure club, but my litlle brother did think the pool was slightly cold, but his fluffy towel (provided by the hotel) soon warmed him up!!! I would highly recommend staying at this hotel, its in a perfect location and spotlessly clean.

“Nice One !”

Mercure Holland House Cardiff

30 Mar 2008

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 days end of March 2008. Got an executive room on the 10th floor with superb views of the city. Must say that the layout and size of the executive room is well worth it and not many hotels provide a safe in the room as part of the service. Also, bathrobes etc. The staff were extremely polite and deserve 11/10 for their effort. I would go as far as to say that the staff are the best that we have ever met, and the hotel company should be applauded for the training etc they have given to their employees. From the chef to housekeeping, you could sense that they were all proud to be part of the team. Many other companies could learn from Mercure. The hotel itself is spot on and the only faults I could comment on during our stay is that the jacuzi was out of order in the spa. Food 1st class, but perhaps the plates could be warmed for breakfast, as the food became cold due to the air conditioning. However, don`t let this put you off. If you are considering visiting Cardiff, give this hotel a try and you won`t be disappointed. Ok, you have to pay for parking the car, but is`nt this the case whenever you stay in a city centre hotel. Go left out of the hotel and under the railway bridge and your in the city centre. 5 mins walk.
