Stayed at the Apsis Florida for several nights recently. Whilst the hotel is clean, reasonably priced, generally comfortable and very well located in the middle of the main shopping area, (a good breakfast is also provided), some staff were unfriendly bordering on rude which let this property down during our visit , tainting our experience.

In particular a front desk clerk who had managed to avoid smiling for an entire shift asked us to check out of our room 3 hours in advance of the advertised check out time (i.e. 9am – check-out was midday) so the room could be cleaned for the next guests. When we very politely declined as we wanted to freshen up before checking out we were shocked when the desk clerk became abrasive and sulky refusing to communicate with us. Later the same morning other hotel staff who had previously been friendly were unfriendly.

Another minor issue involved staff the previous day leaving the balcony doors wide open on our first floor balcony after cleaning the room. We had left them securely locked on departing the room as the balcony was reasonably easily accessed from the street. This was a major security concern for us (though Andorra does feel quite safe) and staff should avoid doing this in future.

In conclusion this could be a great little hotel if the front desk staff were a bit more friendly, cheerful and guest oriented. We did not so much mind being asked to check out early - it was the manner in which the request was made and staff attitude to our response which we found inappropriate. Otherwise the location is particularly good, heaps of hot water, comfy beds, close-by parking etc.
