If you were a lion you would be a bit pi$$ed off.
All other animals had great enclosures apart from the lions. I know they sleep for hours a day but my hotel room was a similar size to their enclosure. Please can this be addressed.

the animals seem very well looked after and there habitats are very well kept and large for each species of animal, i personally enjoyed the little unique features of the zoo, like walking on top of the jaguar enclosure and getting a different/ better view of the animals
Its a little stange being in the city in a zoo but its a nice experience, the place is a bit dated but was a nice way to spend a few hours out of the very busy city! Good range of animals and most of the enclosures are quite open.
We loved how the Zoo has adapted it's space to create interactive displays and to suit smaller animals. The elephants and goats were a real highlight.
A small beautiful zoo with lots of potential. Most of the enclosures were empty - some of the animals were inside instead which is fair enough, we found it hard to navigate around the zoo and kept getting lost. We could not find the meerkats and once we did there was no sign of them in the enclosure.
The lion enclosure was awful, the male lion is separated from the female lions and they are kept in a tiny pen. It started raining and the male lion wanted to go inside but couldn't as the female lions were inside and he was getting very stressed over it - it was very upsetting to watch.
A lot of the animals were left outside exposed to the rain with no shelter or shade. There weren't many animals to see which was a shame. We also only saw 1 member of staff walking around during our whole stay?! We visited on a Saturday so we expected more staff.
Unfortunately we have been to Loro Parque in Tenerife so it is hard to compete against that, there is a massive difference and I can now appreciate more how Loro Parque is the best zoo in Europe according to Trip Advisor.
I had such an amazing time here so many exotic animals must go while in Amsterdam wear comfortable shoes alot of walking
