What a great 5 star meal we had , from the initial greeting to the final desert it was exceptional . We had the duck al orange , which is a whole duck carved at the table then served with a significant portion of vegetable , had the oysters for entree a very nice treat. And the signature cocktail martini is excellent.

My wife and I went to artur this evening, on Soi Tonson, and had a great meal. We had not been for a couple of years and the difference was amazing. I had an oxtail consomme which was wonderfully clear and a hint of black pepper and my wife had 6 live oysters served with all the accompaniments. Both delicious. Then I had a beef stroganoff, but not the usual creamy mess, really subtle and tasty. My wife had a Dover sole with Buerre Blanc sauce, with a not on the menu spaghetti, with alio , olio and chilli.
The food and service were impeccable. Artur and his wife, Suriya, were very attentive and accommodating. Overall, very impressive.

The restaurant carries the solid imprimatur of its founder and for good reason. Very few people in Bangkok, or for that matter anywhere else on the planet, are capable of orchestrating the kind of "old school" front-of-house service that Khun Artur and his charming wife personify here at this elegant and comfortable restaurant in a boutique hotel off Bangkok's Chit Lom locale. For those old enough and in the know, Khun Artur carries the mantle of the late, great Stanislaw (Ken) Kaminski, But that's another story! The menu pays rightful homage to French cuisine but recognizes Bangkok's infatuation with the US's very own "Steak House" genre. But I happen to think that the whole roast duck, (for 2) carved so deftly at the table by Artur himself, is "sans pareil" and so worthy of being a signature dish. For the Beef Wellington, the texture of the underside of the pastry casing would benefit from surface score marks allowing the super heated "steam" to escape during the cooking process. The wine list is very well put together by Artur, a very knowledgeable oenophile. This is a very special eatery.

I was taken out to Artur's for my birth a whilst I was on holiday in Bangkok earlier this month. Upon my return to Australia I can't stop raving on about how good the food was. The service was on point and we particularly enjoyed watching the salads being made in front of us. We were spoilt with free appetizers and our little gift of fresh Madeleines at the end of our dinner were exquisite.

I travel worldwide... over 130 countries over the years. However, not being a food critic, I tend to like/dislike as I please. On this visit to BKK, my wife accompanied me, and with the Buddhist holiday in full swing, restaurant choices were somewhat restricted. ARTUR's was recommended by the hotel. Special touches by the owner/host and his recommendations - cocktails, hor d'oeuvres, caesar salad with grilled tiger prawns, fresh dover sole meuniere/vegetables, duck - accompanied by wine and followed by desert and coffee... EXTRORDINARY experience! Highly recommended. I place ARTUR's in the TOP-20 in major cities worldwide!
