I have stayed at this hotel in October 2015. This hotel is the dream of those who like their accommodation luxurious, over-doing it a bit with all the triple curtains, bed linings and sink-in armchairs, but given its stated purpose of being the most luxurious place in Chisinau, it does meet the goal. The furniture was custom-made for the hotel, from the wood paneling to the working desks, and it shows.
What I loved about it:
-> they are extremely generous with the toiletries and accessories, with a full complement, ranging from a toothbrush kit to a little cotton bag for your small possessions. In this day when the hotels are skimping on such stuff, finding one which provides everything you need is really welcome;
-> the staff is very agreeable, business-like, polite and helpful. They do not linger around for tips. On the contrary I was amazed to pick up the phone at 6 in the morning and be told exactly when my breakfast will arrive - i.e. the next second, without me asking!
-> the view from the top-floor restaurant takes in the better part of Chisinau;
-> the pillows (and pillow menu) are very, very good (they actually have some custom-made ones, which are ergonomic);
-> the full-service minibar and snacks offered in the room;
-> the high-speed internet (included in the price);
-> the ultra-central location.
Things to take note of:
-> The breakfast is menu-based. There are two options, namely to order in the room or to eat it (7:00-11:00) in the panorama restaurant on the 7th floor. As there is no buffet, one feels a bit restrained in ordering too much. However, the staff is very helpful and inviting and the food is quite good (everything I had, including lunch and dinner, was very well prepared). Expect to spend at least 15 minutes before it is brought to you;
-> The single bed was quite narrow. Still a good sleep quality, but not much rolling about.
They speak very good English, Romanian and Russian. All in all, a positively great experience. One of, if not the best rooms in Chisinau.
